• Discuss equipment, tools, materials, and products. Analyze and compare brushes and make-up sponges for various applications.
• Learn the Basics of skin: Care and preparation for make-up, Skin analysis, and selection of appropriate cleansers, toners, and moisturizers for varying skin types.
• Learn facial anatomy and face shapes. Understanding how contouring, shading and highlighting can correct or enhance shapes.
• Learn make-up selection based on proper analysis of skin tones and undertones. Colour theory and terminology.
• Understand the purpose, selection and application of foundation, concealer, powders
• Cheek colour application: technical application of dry and crème cheek colour, when and why to use cream vs. dry
• Eyebrows: how to shape brows, make-up selection and application.
• Eye make-up selection and application: cream shadow (greasepaint, liner), cake shadow (wet or dry application) and pressed powder shadow. Eye shapes and corrections.
• Lip Colour: selection and application of lip products. Lip shapes and corrections.
• Daytime and evening make-up. Classic looks and current fashion looks: natural, subtle, glamorous and dramatic styles.
• Discussion of make-up for mature skin.
• Demonstration and practical application of wedding make-up.
